I expect to pass through life but once. If, therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow-being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again - William Penn
How We Work
We spend our focus on giving a hand up to hardworking individuals that suddenly face an unexpected circumstance that knocks them off their path. We work entirely through word-of-mouth.
If you or someone you know suddenly is faced with an unexpected, unpreventable hardship and could use a "hand up" then let us know!
GEABF will step in, conduct intake interviews and learn more about the potential recipient's situation.
The GEABF effort is focused on hardworking individuals in the low-income bracket and therefore, looks for the following key criteria when determining who may be eligible for our support:
Has the individual experienced a recent hardship (within the last three months)?
We look to help individuals that work hard every day to make ends meet that are suddenly faced with an unexpected emergency. Our objective is to give these individual's a hand up as they navigate that hardship.
Was the hardship preventable?
We want to provide a hand up to individuals that are working diligently to get by on a day-to-day basis. If the hardship was preventable (i.e. If someone fails to make multiple payments and then has a vehicle repossessed, GEABF would not be the right match). However, if the hardship was unpreventable, then GEABF may be the right fit!
Our objective is to give individual's a "hand up" as they navigate that hardship. We aim to help them turn their hardship into a mere inconvenience.
Does the Individual fall into the "low-income" bracket?
GEABF is accredited through the State of Arizona as a Qualified Charitable Organization that is dedicated to helping individuals in the low-income bracket. This means that those that donate to the foundation may receive a credit towards their Arizona State taxes. Therefore, our focus to ensure we are in alignment with our purpose which is to help the low-income families.
Through the intake interview will assess whether we are a match; and, if we cannot offer support directly, then we we may refer the applicant out to the many connections with local programs that we have.
